The Post-Trust Economy

Correctness as Infrastructure. Trust as a System Property.

By Douglas E. Fisher
Founder, Zero Trust Event Systems
June 2026

The world runs on systems that cannot prove what happened, who did it, or whether the data is real. The Post‑Trust Economy replaces institutional attestation with cryptographically verifiable correctness, delivered through correctness‑preserving infrastructure such as CPES, CPTL, ZTEA, EAS, MDPA, MEME, and ZTOPS.

Correctness becomes universal.

Trust becomes automatic.

Institutions become reliable.

Section 1 — The Problem We’re Solving

The World Runs on Unverifiable Systems

Today’s digital infrastructure cannot prove:

  • what occurred

  • who performed an action

  • whether the data is authentic

  • whether a system behaved correctly

Entire industries exist solely to compensate for this absence of correctness:

  • reconciliation

  • fraud investigation

  • dispute resolution

  • audit layers

  • manual data cleaning

  • compliance verification

  • redundant cybersecurity

These are parasitic layers — economic drag masquerading as “jobs.”

Section 2 — The Post‑Trust Revolution

Correctness‑Preserving Infrastructure

The Post‑Trust Economy replaces unverifiable systems with cryptographically verifiable event correctness, enforced at the substrate level.

This is not a feature. This is not an add‑on. This is civilizational infrastructure modernization.

Correctness‑preservation ensures:

  • every event is provable

  • every actor is accountable

  • every system is self‑verifying

  • every record is tamper‑evident

  • every process is correctness‑preserving by design

This is the foundation of the Post‑Trust world.

Section 3 — Global Uplift

What “Global Uplift” Actually Means

Global uplift is the annual economic value released when correctness‑preserving infrastructure removes systemic friction from the global economy.

It is not GDP. It is not tax revenue. It is not wages or profits.

It is the freed capacity created when correctness becomes automatic.

Uplift comes from eliminating:

  • Reconciliation

  • Fraud investigation

  • Dispute resolution

  • Error correction

  • Manual data cleaning

  • Compliance verification

  • Redundant cybersecurity layers

The result:

$1.4 trillion to $3.8 trillion per year in reduced global economic drag.

This is the economic oxygen released when correctness becomes universal.

Section 4 — Labor Impact

Correctness‑Preservation Does Not Reduce Total Employment

The Post‑Trust transition produces three structural effects:

1. Eliminates parasitic labor

Work that exists only because systems are unreliable disappears — but the people do not.

2. Upgrades low‑quality work into high‑value work

Workers shift into correctness‑native roles:

  • correctness engineering

  • AI governance

  • cyber‑physical safety

  • model lifecycle management

  • digital identity

  • zero‑trust architecture

  • correctness‑preserving infrastructure

  • MEME/MDPA/ZTEA‑based systems

These roles are higher‑skill, higher‑pay, higher‑stability.

3. The total labor footprint remains stable

Totals:

  • Current: 63M–92M

  • Post‑Trust: 59M–86M

These ranges overlap heavily.

The job market stays roughly the same size. The composition shifts upward.

The “job loss” scenario is a mathematical artifact, not an economic outcome.

Section 5 — The 159‑Domain Economic Map

Across 159 correctness‑dependent domains, correctness‑preservation delivers:

  • provable events

  • verifiable identity

  • tamper‑evident records

  • correctness‑preserving transport

  • self‑verifying systems

  • fraud‑resistant infrastructure

  • trust‑optional institutions

This is the first comprehensive economic model of correctness‑preservation.  See below.

Section 7 — The Post‑Trust Thesis

Correctness is not a feature. It is the substrate the world has been missing.

When correctness becomes universal:

  • trust becomes automatic

  • institutions become reliable

  • fraud becomes uneconomical

  • disputes become rare

  • systems become self‑verifying

  • labor shifts upward

  • the economy accelerates

This is the Post‑Trust Economy.

Executive Summary: Job Impact of the Post‑Trust Economy

Correctness‑preservation does not reduce total employment. It eliminates waste work, upgrades low‑quality work, and shifts the labor market into higher‑value roles.

Across 159 correctness‑dependent domains, the Post‑Trust transition produces three structural effects:

  • Eliminates parasitic labor — reconciliation, fraud investigation, dispute resolution, audit layers, manual data cleaning, and other roles that exist only because systems are unreliable today.

  • Upgrades existing roles — workers move into correctness engineering, AI governance, cyber‑physical safety, model lifecycle management, and other high‑skill, high‑stability positions.

  • Maintains a stable total labor footprint — the global job market remains roughly the same size, with a shift from low‑value to high‑value work.

The apparent “job loss” in the raw ranges is a mathematical artifact, not an economic outcome. The lower and upper bounds represent different uncertainty envelopes, not before/after pairs. In all realistic scenarios, the workforce rebalances, not contracts.

Bottom line:

The Post‑Trust Economy replaces waste with value, not workers with unemployment. It preserves total employment while dramatically increasing job quality and economic output.
